Report: Finland eyes banning imports of Russian LNG
HELSINKI, Nov 7 (PRIME) -- Finland's Environment and Climate Minister Kai Mykkanen plans to suggest prohibiting Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports, newswire Uutissuomalainen quoted him as saying on Monday.
"Finland's Environment and Climate Minister Kai Mykkanen plans to prohibit LNG imports from Russia through national legislation," the newswire said.
He said that the ban could be introduced as part of a new package of E.U. gas market measures that envisages steps at discretion of each state. Mykkanen said that he hoped that the negotiations on the package would be complete in 2023.
